If you know how to place a Quinella Bet, you can place an Exacta Bet just as easily. An Exacta Bet (aka Perfecta) involves picking two horses that you believe will finish first and second. Unlike a Quinella Bet, you must also choose the order the two horses will finish in an Exacta Bet. If you choose the No. 5 and No. 6 horse, the No. 5 must finish first and the No. 6 must finish second.
Just like Quinellas, there is also an Exacta Box. By boxing your exacta, it basically becomes the same as a Quinella Box. You need to choose a minimum of three horses, from which you believe two will finish first and second. If you box the No. 3, 4 and 5 horse, you win if they finish either 3-4, 4-3, 4-5, 5-4, 3-5 or 5-3.
